Gaming Notebook Guide
3D Graphics Performance Is King

The requirements for having a good gaming notebook are always changing. For example having a DDR2 memory was considered the best but now it's DDR3 memory that make gaming better. Even with all the changes the three things that make a gaming notebook good are one the graphics card, two the processor and three the screen.
Getting the best you can get allows you to enjoy gaming on your notebook as if you were on a desktop. To achieve that your gaming notebook will need to have some things.

Your Gaming Notebook Specifications Check List

Fast dual-core or quad core processor. Right now the best processor you can have inside your gaming notebook is the Core i7 mobile processors.

High powered graphics cards. ATi and NVIDIA are the leading manufacturers in this department and the best of the two changes every couple of years. Right now in 2010 ATi with the Radeon 5xxx series DirectX 11 cards are the best. The main thing to look for is how much memory your graphics card has it ranges from 256MB all the way to 2GB or video memory, the more the better.

High resolution display. Most gaming notebooks come with between 15"-18.4" in screen size. The max resolution that will really make games look great is 1920x1200, that's Full HD if you were wondering.

The fastest memory you can get. Right now the fastest you can get is DDR3 at 1333MHz, every system is different but most will allow for at least 4GB of DDR3 while others can go upto 8GB of RAM. Having 4+ GB of RAM is always a good idea.

Fast hard drive storage. The fastest hard drive solution right now is SSD or solid state drive but it is limited in capacity the most for notebooks is about 100GB. The second fastest for notebooks is 7200RPM SATA drive(the normal disk hard drive). I recommend if your computer has the option to have both to get both of them.
