Pros:
When your buying a Dell Studio XPS laptop your spending
more than for an average Dell laptop. With the Studio XP features
excellent build quality and a nice keyboard. Also thanks to the Intel
Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of memory the Studio XPS 16 performs
solidly, if you have the configuration we had.
If your going to
be watching movies or television shows in High Definition in 1080p
resolution the display on the Studio XPS 16 won't let you down. It
gives you excellent accurate color and contrast. Also the port
selection on the Studio XPS is worth noting it boosts all the major
ports usb, esata, firewire, hdmi etc.
Cons:
Be warned
that even though the screen offers you great picture quality it does
have a glossy protective layer that gives off glare if there is to much
light. The laptop also gets pretty hot, the discrete graphics and
processor on our test system didn't help either.
Like it's to be
expected the battery life is okay but it's not the best, you should
expect to get around 2 hours and 50 minutes with a 9-cell battery and a
little under 2 with the 6-cell. Like with lots of computers from Dell
or any big name company the added programs are a nuisance.
